Down the threads of the Ages before us comes knowledge. Now dawns the Age of Aquarius for which mankind has long yearned, to bring love, light and hope to the World. This is the Age also of Crystal. A friend, teacher and tool for change and growth. For many thousands of years, mankind has valued and cherished crystals; for their inherent beauty, their physical. Astronomical and esoteric properties. They have been regarded with awe by Wise Men and Shamans from primeval times and throughout most ancient and modern civilizations.crystals can assist us to use our ability to focus our mental energy for healing and telepathy. To communicate with our spiritual being, increasing our inner vibrations, amplifying and stimulating all our mental abilities Thus enabling us to heal ourselves, others, and the Earth, our home.Clear Quartz in particular has to amplify and transmit subtle vibrations.Quartz is the symbol of elemental wholeness, containing the four elements of creation. Fire (its piezo electric qualities), Earth (of which it was born). Water (contained within its structure), and Air (because of its clarity it allows the passage of light, as does the air)…..and it is beautiful as in the world in which we live.

Quartz is a crystal of diverse uses and properties . Technically the modern world makes use of its Plato electric properties , and its abilities to vibrate at very precise frequencies (used in oscillators) . Model station of energy ( in capacitors) , energy transmission, control and storage . It also assists in the purification of air by absorbing positive ions and emitting negative ions.

Quartz crystals are considered to be all purpose in their use, powerful tools for healing - in reality the refinancing of spiritual energies at all levels of consciousness.

Even without our conscious awareness, association with Quartz crystals assist the development and integration of our entire being, bringing the white light within us. Reflecting white light the crystals bring the gift of more light and positive energies to the aware, facilitating the growth of awareness in the unawakening mind.

Quartz crystals assist us to amplify, focus, direct, transmit and store our bodily. mental and spiritual energies. Quartz can help us to extend our aura, giving extra protection against negative energies and also the debilitating effects of electrical currents, be they from fluorescent lights, television, micro- waves. coffee pots or any other source of uncontrolled electromagnetic fields.

Crystals are not essential to us for improving the quality of our lives , but then neither are friends or companions . Our existence would be that much poorer without them.

There are many ways to use crystals , here we suggest but a few They are not necessarily the right way for you. In your association with crystals trust in your own instincts and senses . SPHERES: the symbol of occult wisdom throughout the Ages. They are available tool for healers and for meditation. Also particularly useful for developing psychic and intuitive abilities. For instance the intuitive reading of the perceived energy patterns of the human aura can give valuable information concerning the physical and spiritual health of a person.Used in healing the sphere can center, draw together and absorb negative energies and emotions, transmuting them and reflecting them back to help the person experiencing mental and physical discomfort. In meditation the quartz sphere can bring to the user greater spiritual clarity, centering and focusing energies which in turn leads to greater insight into ones problems and their root causes.

RAINBOWS: Are the dance of light across the heavens. They are a gift to protect us from the evil we may meet. If you are luckyyou may find a crystal containing flaws or water inclusions that will fill the interior of the crystal with a fantasy of light and rainbow colours. DOUBLE TERMINATED CRYSTALS: These arecrystals which have been fortunate enough to have developed ln an environment where terminations at both ends of the crystals were able to form. They have the ability to recirculate energy through either end of the crystal by drawing in and projecting energy at both terminations. They symbolize the blending of the spiritual and the physical and can be of great assistance to those who are spiritually or mentally out of balance by bringing calmness and relaxation. WINDOW CRYSTALS: These are uncommon.they have a large diamond shaped facet in the centre front of the crystal. They symbolize the integration of the spiritual and the physic- cal. CHOOSING, CLEARING & ENERGIZING YOUR CRYSTAL.

When choosing a crystal for oneself.First clear your mind, breathe deeply and feel yourself balanced. Centre in your mind the purpose for which you need the crystal. Then look at all the available crystals briefly and allow yourself to be attracted to one of them.You will automatically be drawn to a crystal that is resonating at the correct level for your present purpose.

Having chosen your crystal you then need to cleanse it of any negative vibrations that it has picked up on it’s travels to reach you.

First the crystal should be washed carefully in water (with a little soap added lf necessary), then rinsed and gently dried. The crystal can then be cleared in one of the following ways, whichever seems right to you :

1. By soaking in a saline solution over night.

2. By covering with sea salt overnight.

3. Smudging. Light some dried sage or cedar, blow out the flame and hold the crystal in the smoke, turning it to ensure all surfaces are smudged.

This is an ancient Native American Method.

4. Burying the crystal in the earth for one or more days.

5. Visualization. Visualize a pure white light filling and flowing through the crystal, clearing all negative vibrations.

This cleansing can be repeated as often as needed, the crystal can also be rested on an amethyst crystal cluster between use to remove any negativity.

Having cleansed the crystal you may wish to energize or programme the crystal for a specific purpose. This can be accomplished by various methods, according to what type of energies are needed. The crystal can be energized by resting in the sun, or the moon for a more feminine receptive energy. It can be held in a fast running stream or waterfall.

Visualization is also used. Your intent and purpose ls very important especially with the visualization method. The crystal will work for you by enhancing your own magnetic field or aura, by transforming and amplifying energy, increasing your awareness and raising the level at which you resonate.

What are affirmations?

Affirmations are a positive tool to program your subconscious with self-affirming phrases that help you to be the best you can be.

Many people program themselves daily with negative thoughts without realising it. They may think “ I am stupid”, “I always get things wrong”, “ I’m such a klutz”, “people always let me down”, “I’ll never lose weight”, “I’m in so much debt I’ll never pay it off”. By constantly telling yourself these negative affirmations you strengthen your belief that these Bad things will happen and you’ll find they happen more often.

You need to break out of the habit of putting yourself down and start affirming in your subconscious what you actually want to happen in your reality. For example if you want to lose weight, keep in your mind all day long “ I am losing weight” or “ I am making healthy choices”. If you are worried that you are getting things wrong at work, affirm “ I am capable and good at my job”. If you constantly worry that you are to stressed, affirm “ I am calm and centred, I can handle anything”.

Positive affirmations are based in the present tense, “ I am”, “ I can”, “ I”. To help keep your affirmation in your thoughts all day you can use a variety of techniques… Start your day by repeating your affirmation 3 times, write your affirmation down on some cards and stick them all over your house/desk/car, repeat them as you watch TV/in the loo/in the bath/ walking to work/ exercising, record your affirmation on a tape and play it as you fall asleep, or in the car or as you do the housework.

You’ll be amazed how quickly you feel better about yourself and your situation, and you will have a more positive outlook as a result. You will find that the people and situations around you start to echo your new found positivity.

Aromatherapy

Definition: a combination of body and face massage using essential oils extracted from plants. On one level it can be practiced as a sophisticated form of herbal medicine (as some oils can be taken internally) and on the other hand, it can be simply a relaxing beauty therapy.

Plant extracts have been used for centuries and have stood the test of time, but most modern drugs have only been with us for 50 yrs or less. Specifically, aromatherapy uses the essences from plants rather than the whole, or even part of the plants themselves. The essence of a plant is made up of aromatic oils that appear in the various parts of a given plant in differing amounts at various times of the day.

They can occur in the roots (for example, in calamus), the flower (lavender) the leaves (rosemary) the bark (sandalwood) and even in the resin (myrrh). They are even found in the rind of some fruit. The naturally occurring oils are formed in different parts of the plant, then circulated to that in the evening, the essence may be more concentrated in the flowers, and in the morning, in the leaves. In the plants themselves, essential oils act as pesticides, ffingicides and bactericides, whilst some have hormone like properties.

Aromatic oils are widely used in modern society, in food, toiletries and pharmaceuticals, and are also widely found in components of tonics, hair oils, inhalants and many other patent medicines. It takes 2,000 pounds of rose petals to produce one pound of rose oil and it cannot be made in laboratories.

The history of essences is long and distinguished; the Egyptians, did most for aromatherapy (although they didn’t call it this) thousands of years ago at the same time the Chinese were developing acupuncture. When Tutankhamen’s tomb was opened in 1922, many scent pots were found, which showed that frankincense and myrrh were widely used by the rich of the day. The Greeks and the Romans also used plant oils for healing. A Frenchman while working in his laboratory burnt his hand while conducting an experiment; he doused his hand in a bowl of lavender oil and was astonished at the speed with which his hand was healed. Another Frenchman in 1938 reported excellent results in the treatment of skin cancer, gangrene and wound healing. It was used in WW2 for scar healing.

The essences extracted plants are completely natural oils; they contain esters, alcohols, aldehdes, ketones and terpenes. Nobody knows exactly, how essences work in the body, it is possible for example that we can smell with our skins as well as our noses.

Russian research has found that some people can (and others trained to) feel colours, after a short training can learn to distinguish colours very accurately with their fingertips whilst blindfolded. It is well known that under the influence of LSD, people hear, taste and smell colours and so, so perhaps smelling through the skin surface is a faculty which we all have but have lost in the process of evolution.
